Lip Fillers: Here’s What You Need to Know

lip filler

Let’s talk about KYSSE, baby…

We’ve used different types of filler to enhance the lips since the 1980’s.  At that time it was collagen derived products from bovine and rooster comb that didn’t last more than a few months and had no numbing! We’ve come a long way since then!

Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid filler to get FDA approval in the U.S., back in 2003, with many more hyaluronic acid fillers, the best known being Juvederm, to follow.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is natural to our bodies, with the largest amounts of it found in your skin, connective tissue and eyes. Its main function is to retain water to keep your tissues well lubricated and moist.

Over the past decade companies have been able to manipulate the HA into smaller and bigger particles and stabilize them longer.  When in a gel form injected fillers can lift fine lines, deep folds, provide lifting for cheeks and of course, beautify our lips.

The newest FDA approved lip filler product is KYSSE from Restylane. This product is part of the “XpresHAn Technology”, meaning it creates flexible movement and natural-looking volume, while enhancing texture and color of the lips while maintaining a full range of expressions.

Things have changed in the lip filling world, and using KYSSE along with a more advanced technique helps to roll lips up, instead of out.  Meaning, you get a more natural full lip and never an overdone, projected forward lip.

I’ve been Injecting lips for 15 years. It’s one of my all-time favorite treatments!  See my Instagram account for some before and afters.
